St. Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny. St. Canice's Cathedral dates from the 13th century and is thought to be built on the site of the 6th century church of St. Canice. Once a roofless ruin, much repair and restoration has been carried out over the years, but the Cathedral has retained many of its original features such as the Round Tower - a relic of the ancient church, and stepped battlements. The interior has many fine medieval monumens dating from 1285, effigies and other sculptures.
